Reasons to choose us

Our key strength is dedicated team members, both full and part time who are so important for the care of our residents. Their dedication and enthusiasm for the work that they do is apparent in the attention given to each of the animals. They form a key role in maintaining the highest standard of care for your pet.

Additional Information

We all adore our pets so if you are concerned how your pet may adapt to a kennel routine, please talk to us in advance so that we can help both you and your pet overcome any worries you may have.  An option is also to try a few overnights prior to your vacation to ensure everyone is happy.

We also offer a pickup and delivery service where possible, please ask if you think this is something you could avail of (additional charges apply).

Hillside Kennels have grooming facilities for dogs. Should you wish your dog to come home smelling fresh or with a gorgeous new hair cut for your return, please discuss this staff on check in and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Boarding Information

We provide everything that your pet will need for their stay including bedding, food & water bowls, and food etc. However if you wish your pet to remain on its current diet, please bring enough food with you for the duration of their stay.

If you feel your pet requires items to help them settle in, such as toys, blankets etc, please bring these with you when checking in.  Owners will always know their pet better than anyone so please keep us informed to ease your stress and your pets.

All staff at Hillside are trained in Animal First Aid, and are able to administer medicines and treatments as required, should your pet need it.

If your pet becomes ill during its stay, or we have any concerns about their health, we will seek advice in the first instance from your own vet, and will always contact you to keep you updated. Voy Vets will always be used for out of hours emergencies as they are on 24 hour call.  However if you wish that we deal with your vet solely, please advise us at check in.

Notes to add before stay

Your pet must be fully vaccinated before coming to stay at Hillside.

Dogs need to be fully vaccinated with yearly booster up to date and kennel cough vaccine done a minimum of 2 weeks prior to entry.

Cats need to be fully vaccinated with yearly booster up to date.

In line with DAERA we are required to be shown proof of an up to date Veterinary Vaccination Card for your pet at check in. Your animal cannot be accepted for boarding if this is not provided. This is to protect your own pet and others staying with us. We also recommend applying a spot on flea treatment before their stay.

It is your responsibility to ensure all veterinary information is up to date and marked on the card or paperwork at check in.

We cannot be responsible for damage or loss to personal items left with your pet during their stay.
