Accommodation
Dogs stay in separate pens, unless two or more from the same household, board together. Each area is securely locked by a metal grill door for extra security. We also have a number of larger pens suitable for a number of dogs. Typically, two or more dogs can stay in one of these pens. This is dependant of the size and breed of the dogs.
Feeding
We feed adult dogs in the morning and again in the evening, unless instructed otherwise. Other dogs such as puppies and older dogs may have specific diets which we are more than happy to accommodate, to eliminate upset tummies, allergies and especially puppies we recommend to bring your own food with you. There is no need for you to bring your dishes, as we use our own for feeding and drinking as we can disinfect every day.
Bedding
We supply blankets, and beds; however, you are welcome to bring your own bedding for your dog. Bringing along an item that has the scent of your home, may help your pet settle quicker in the kennels.
Cleaning/ hygiene
All our dog pens are disinfected and cleaned daily. We only use pet friendly products to ensure that your pet will stay in a clean, comfortable environment.
Exercising
We aim to give your dog as much exercise as it would normally receive when at home. For some dogs this is a lot, for others it’s very little. It really depends on you and your pet. We will always endeavour to make sure you dog will have fun at all times, so feel free to bring a trusted toy or two. Every day during its stay, your dog will receive one-on-one exercising and care, with one of our members of staff. Note, we don’t practise group exercising at Hillside Kennels.
